Andrew DeRogers, a resident of Cape Cod, gets it and so should everyone else. The Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates most certainly does not get it, hence their silly ordinance meant to impede ICE efforts in their Woke fiefdom on Cape Cod.
The Woke on Cape Cod and elsewhere are willfully ignorant of the reality that a nation must have immigration laws and enforce these. Enforcing immigration laws is not racist. It’s a nonpartisan issue. It’s what adults do. It’s what responsible well-functioning governments do.
A rational debate on immigration includes the number of immigrants allowed each year, from what countries, the vetting process, and the administration and enforcement of immigration laws, among other considerations. Wanton disregard of borders to earn Woke brownie points is childish and deliberately self-destructive.
Unfortunately for decent folks who understand the importance of immigration laws, there’s no shortage of childish and deliberately self-destructive adults among us who insist otherwise, especially in jurisdictions infested with the white Woke (e.g., Cape Cod). Therein lies the problem. A problem to our collective detriment.
The Woke want illegal immigrants to flood into our country unimpeded and, once here, given sanctuary and extensive public benefits. The illegals are given housing, food, healthcare, driver’s licenses, education, voting rights, and preferential treatment in the criminal justice system. This is done in the context of staggering government deficit and debt and is cruelly unfair to our citizens and the immigrants who follow the rules and come here legally.
The Woke do not give a damn about the unfairness or cost of their phony virtue. An illegal immigrant college student is given the in-state tuition cost. A citizen from another state pays the out-of-state price, which is usually much higher. An illegal immigrant criminal may have charges reduced or dropped altogether if these could result in his deportation. A citizen criminal receives no such break. In some local elections (e.g., San Francisco Unified School District), illegals are allowed to vote; thus, someone who is not supposed to be here can raise your taxes. Insufferable celebrities emote their empty-headed support for illegal immigrants. Do not expect any of these dunderheads to accept an award and, in their speech, speak in support of legal immigrants and against the harm of illegal immigration.
Woke elected officials and their minions fight on behalf of illegals with far more vigor than they do for citizens and legal immigrants. The legacy media are useful idiots in this mad endeavor: They play up the boo-hoo side of deportations, often grossly mischaracterizing the situation, and deliberately ignore the harm illegal immigration does to private sector unions, blue collar wages, and taxpayers. When heinous crimes are committed by illegal immigrants in our country, the media ignores these or resorts to the irrelevant default argument that “Undocumented immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than other groups.” This, of course, ignores the crucial fact that crimes committed by illegals should not have occurred in our country because the perpetrator shouldn’t have been here in the first place. Citizens and legal residents in our country pay dearly for pro-illegal immigrant largesse and accommodation, not just with their tax dollars but all too often with their very lives.
Bottom line: The Woke don’t care if illegals are vetted for criminal history or disease, whether they benefit our society or are a financial burden. They don’t care if the illegal immigrant commits serious crimes while here. They don’t want illegal immigrants deported. Period.
Why do the Woke fanatically support illegal immigration? One reason is the narcotic-like hit of vile sanctimony they get from believing “We showed Trump!” Like any addict, the euphoria of the addiction utterly blocks out any concern regarding the obvious self-destructiveness. Any action they believe is contrary to President Trump’s wishes is like fentanyl to those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
TDS is very real and warrants its place in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). This disease turbocharges the Woke desire to embrace ludicrous public policies, including aggressively thwarting immigration laws. I’d bet a lot of money if Kamala Harris were president and started enforcing our immigration laws with the same gumption as President Trump, the Woke would be at brunch. There’d be no anti-ICE protests, the freeway overpasses would be empty of the No Kings and Resist hystericalists, and the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates would be occupied with other inanities.
The Woke, despite being avowed anti-capitalists, are the useful idiots of the oligarchy and the political elite. Our overlords have nefarious reasons for wanting open boarders: cheap labor and the political calculation that illegal immigrants are potential voters to keep the Democrat elite in power. Another bet I’d make: If the Democrat establishment believed illegal immigrants were likely to vote Republican, they’d construct a massive wall along our southern border at least twice the height as the one President Trump wants built. And probably electrify the fuck out of it.
How do the Woke get away with their asshattery? The non-Woke are too busy, too weary, and too afraid to speak up against open border madness. They don’t have the luxury of idle hands to protest on behalf of their position and defend ICE. The fear of being called racist, xenophobe, or bigot keeps many of them in line.
